ARTICLES LIST

World War One, The Depression, Potato houses & storage, plows, Big Bands, and pet pictures are part of my article base right now.  The articles about the things on this site, as well as how to articles are listed here with a short explanation.

THE US 81st A.E.F. "THE WILDCATS"
Was a unit of the United States Army in World War I and World War II, and was part of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I.  The 316th FA (Field Artilley), was a part of that division. This history, and two panoramic photos taken in 1919 when WWI ended will tell you about it.  A letter sent to the American Expeditionary Forces by King George the IV during World War One
is also shown on this page, along with panoramic photos of the 316th after the war.

WHO IS SEYMOUR SIMONS?
Lived from January 14, 1896 to Feb. 12, 1949  A famous musician & band leader who co-wrote the song "ALL OF ME".  His mini biography, songs, and people he worked with on the page along with his autographed picture postcard.

STORING POTATOS, POTATO HOW
Build your own potato storage, storing potatos, potato care.  Keep your potatos and root vegetables from rotting.

THE POTATO HOUSE MY GRANDAD BUILT
Sawdust, does it make good insulation?  The  community potato house during the depression, unique potato house construction, and how to weatherproof wood, the old way.

HIS KICKBACK PLOW
What kind of plow is that?  Patent models, farming methods during the depression, land conservation methods used then.

THE ROTTEN-WEILER & THE HAMSTER
They are rotten, but loveable.  NOTE:  If anyone wants to hear about a particular subject matter, or if you are curious about how life was back then, post a question to me and I'll try to write a good article on it for you, or post links to sites of that nature.  Just email me or post to "leave a note".
